From Cambridge, deRMA Skin Institute is a short drive up the road: about 20 minutes from Hespeler and about 30 minutes from Galt, to our clinic at 33 Farley Drive, Unit 8, in Guelph’s south end. Cosmetic consultations don’t need a referral, so you can contact us directly about injectables, Sculptra, laser resurfacing or Morpheus8.
Why a short drive suits maintenance treatments
Some cosmetic treatments are one-time projects. Others work best as upkeep, repeated on a schedule. Upkeep is where living 20 to 30 minutes away helps most, because a short appointment doesn’t turn into a half-day outing.
Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) soften the expression lines that come from muscle movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. Their effect fades over months, so most people return on a regular schedule. Each product’s label gives its own duration, and we set the labels side by side in Botox vs Dysport vs Xeomin. Treatment details are on our Botox, Dysport and Xeomin page.
Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane restore volume in the lips, cheeks and the folds around the mouth. They’re a good fit when the goal is a specific feature rather than the whole face. Our dermal fillers page covers the other options, and how long fillers last explains why “temporary” filler often lasts longer than people expect.
Sculptra works differently from filler. It’s a poly-L-lactic acid injectable that prompts your skin to make new collagen, so change builds slowly over a planned series of visits. Read more on our Sculptra page and in Sculptra in Guelph: a dermatologist’s guide.
The Gold Protocol™ is Dr. Sajic’s combination injectable approach to overall skin quality. Ask at your consultation how often visits would be needed.
Resurfacing and Morpheus8 from Cambridge
For texture, acne scars, sun damage and loose skin, the treatments that do the most also ask the most of your schedule.
eCO2 laser resurfacing is a fractional CO2 laser. After laser resurfacing, the American Academy of Dermatology tells patients to plan on staying home for 5 to 7 days. Lighter settings may need less time; ask what to expect at yours. If you’re given medication for comfort that can make you drowsy, have someone else drive you back to Cambridge.
Morpheus8 RF microneedling sends radiofrequency energy through fine needles to remodel collagen below the surface. It’s usually done as a short series of sessions a few weeks apart, with a few days of redness and swelling after each. Our Morpheus8 guide covers the evidence and the safety questions to ask any clinic, and laser skin treatments in Guelph explains who may operate a cosmetic laser in Ontario and what to ask a laser clinic.
If acne scarring is the main concern, our acne scar treatment guide explains how lasers, microneedling and other tools are combined.
Building a treatment plan
It’s common to arrive with one treatment in mind. But lines, volume loss, pigment and laxity often show up together, and a single treatment rarely covers all of them. Dr. Sajic’s 5 Dimension Skin Plan™ is his combination approach, which looks at several causes of facial aging together. Ask at your consultation which steps, if any, can share a visit.
Getting here from Cambridge
Our address is 33 Farley Drive, Unit 8, Guelph, ON N1L 0B7. The clinic sits in Guelph’s south end, which is the Cambridge side of the city, so there’s no need to cross downtown Guelph.
In Google Maps checks on a weekday afternoon in October 2026:
- From Hespeler (Queen Street East), the drive was about 20 minutes, via Wellington County Road 34.
- From Galt (Cambridge City Hall on Dickson Street), it was about 32 minutes, via Clyde Road.
- By transit from Galt, Google Maps showed about an hour and 20 minutes, so driving is the practical choice.
We’re open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday.
Medical skin care
Alongside cosmetic work, we treat medical skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis, and we check moles and suspicious spots; the medical dermatology page lists them. Medical visits covered by OHIP generally begin with a referral, and Do I need a referral? walks through when it matters.
For mole tracking, our mole mapping service uses FotoFinder total-body imaging. The clinic’s mole-mapping page states that no referral is needed, and each follow-up visit is compared against your earlier images.
About the clinic
deRMA Skin Institute is led by Dr. Dusan Sajic, MD, PhD, FRCPC, FAAD. He is a Royal College-certified dermatologist and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at McMaster University.
Questions about visiting from Cambridge
How long is the drive from Cambridge?
About 20 minutes from Hespeler and about 30 minutes from Galt, based on our weekday-afternoon Google Maps checks in October 2026. Traffic changes it, so allow a margin.
Do I need a referral for Botox or filler?
No. Ontario’s health insurance regulation lists a service that is solely for altering or restoring appearance as not insured (Ontario Regulation 552, s. 24). With no OHIP billing involved, there’s no referral step for cosmetic care.
Will I have downtime I need to plan around?
It depends on the treatment. Laser resurfacing is the big one: the American Academy of Dermatology advises planning for 5 to 7 days at home. Morpheus8 usually means a few days of redness and swelling. Injectables usually need much less, though bruising can happen.
Can I fit an appointment around work?
Our hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Short appointments, such as neuromodulator visits, are the easiest to fit into a workday. Treatments with recovery time are better booked before a few days off.
Do you have a Cambridge office?
No. deRMA has one clinic, in Guelph at 33 Farley Drive.
