Radiesse injections are popular with women and men looking to replace lost volume and lift for a fuller, more youthful appearance. What sets Radiesse apart from other injectables at our Guelph and Burlington dermatology practice? Its thicker, firmer formula can be strategically placed directly over bone to create dramatic lifting and restore youthful fullness, unlike other dermal fillers such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®.
What Is Radiesse?
Radiesse is made with tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres, while most dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid (HA) to treat age-related volume loss and smooth wrinkles. CaHA is made up of ions of phosphate and calcium, which occur naturally in the human body.
The injectable gel in Radiesse restores volume but also gradually stimulates collagen production, allowing your skin to make more of its own filler. The hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon in the gel help to create a structure that acts as connective tissue. Because CaHA is naturally found in the body, it’s gradually absorbed, triggering collagen production for results that continually appear over time. Radiesse results can last for well over a year—even up to 2 years for some people—which is much longer than HA fillers.

Derma Skin Institute also offers radiofrequency microneedling and lasers to target concerns such as acne scarring, rosacea, sun damage, among other procedures. Women and men seeking dermatology treatments from the GTA to London and surrounding area choose deRMA Skin Institute.
What Is Dilute Radiesse?
Dilute Radiesse is a thinner formula of Radiesse diluted with saline that allows for easier spreading across a larger surface area and can help optimize collagen production. We often combine Dilute Radiesse with traditional Radiesse injections for patients who want to combine the structurally volumizing results of Radiesse with the skin rejuvenation that Dilute Radiesse offers. We inject Dilute Radiesse in harder-to-treat areas like upper inner arms, décolletage, and knees, or on areas of the face like the lower face where a more subtle effect is desired.
Combining Radiesse With Other Treatments
True skin rejuvenation calls for a strategic vision. That’s why Dr. Dusan Sajic created the innovative 5 Dimension Skin Plan™ – to address the unique ways each person ages with a comprehensive approach. Aging is a complex process and the right combination of treatments requires a customized plan unique to you. Radiesse is one treatment tool we may recommend in combination with other injectables, microneedling, or laser skin treatments.
