Microneedling

Microneedling treats the skin by causing microscopic punctures in the area treated allowing products used during treatment to penetrate deep into the skin. This conditions the skin below the surface. When your skin begins to heal those microscopic punctures, your body boosts new collagen and elastin to the area which will smooth fine lines, reduce superficial scarring and deliver an overall smoother looking complexion.

Microneedling helps to treat wrinkles or fine lines, superficial scars and uneven skin texture. Typically, treatments are done on the face however, other areas such as the neck and décolleté can also be treated.

Treatment time can range from 30 – 60 minutes in length depending on area(s) being treated. There is an additional 30 minutes required for topical anesthetic to be applied and absorbed.

Depending on the skin concern being treated, the amount of treatments can vary from 3 to 6. Each treatment is done every 2 to 3 weeks.

Pharmaceutical skincare is best for maintenance. Some may want to maintain further results by treating every couple of years.

There is minimal discomfort during treatment. A topical anesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment to reduce discomfort. Slight pain may occur on areas where there is prominent bone structure such as jam line and chin.

A serum or other products are applied during treatment and must stay on the skin for up to 4 to 6 hours after treatment. Pinpoint bleeding typically occurs during treatment and will be visible on the skin post treatment. After serum has resided on the skin for 4 to 6 hours, gentle cleansing, serum and moisturizer is to be applied. There may be areas with slight redness however this will dissipate within 12 to 24 hours. It is best to leave the skin makeup free for 24 hours post treatment. It is imperative to wear sun protection for several days post treatment.

Minimal results can be seen after 2 treatments. For best desired results, it is important to complete series of recommended treatments.
